Don’t miss a chance to support Helicopter Foundation International!

In late February, Lightspeed Aviation Foundation sent notification that HFI had been selected as one of 20 'Finalists' for the 2011 Pilot Choice Awards and designated gifting program. A formal announcement was made at the Sun ’n Fun International Fly-in & Expo in Lakeland, Florida on March 31.

To receive the grant, HFI must earn enough votes to place it in the top five of the 20 ‘finalist’ charities.  If you have not yet voted, please do so right away.  You can make a difference!  You can get involved and stand up for our industry by voting at the link at the bottom of the page, and you can ensure that we are able to keep preserving the history of the helicopter and getting scholarships to pilots and mechanics who will help ensure our industry’s future.

For the remainder of the 2011 flying season, the Lightspeed Aviation Foundation will administer winnings through foundation grants and designated gifts. Lightspeed Aviation Foundation will announce the recipients during AOPA’s Summit this September in Hartford, Connecticut.
Founded in 1983, HFI is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich history and heritage of the helicopter and of the industry's service to mankind, and helping to educate future generations of helicopter professionals.  Learn more about HFI at www.helicopterfoundation.org.  HFI promotes the international helicopter industry as an exciting and rewarding career choice for young people, in part by offering scholarships and mentoring panels, which encourage students to pursue helicopter careers. The 2011 Voting is now open.  Click on:
