The Alouette III was used by the land and sea forces of many countries, and by civil operators. The seven-seat aircraft, that evolved from the Alouette II, had a larger cabin, greater power, improved equipment and higher performance. An all-weather version was developed in 1964 using a gyromatic compass, vertical gyro, a three-axis altitude and heading indicator, a radio altimeter, a Doppler radar and an automatic pilot.
