In late February, Lightspeed Aviation Foundation sent notification that HFI had been selected as one of 20 'Finalists' for the 2011 Pilot Choice Awards and designated gifting program. A formal announcement was made at the Sun ’n Fun International Fly-in & Expo in Lakeland, Florida on March 31.

Orlando, FL, March 5, 2011- Helicopter Foundation International proudly hosted its Second Annual Scholarship Fundraising Golf Tournament on Friday, March 4th, to help kick off the events at HELI-EXPO® 2011. The event was a great success. There were wonderful prizes given out, great food enjoyed by the golfers,and everyone who participated helped to support HFI’s Scholarship program. In total,there were 100 players representing 24 teams, and 35 sponsoring or donating companies.

A visit to Helicopter Foundation  International is a great way to learn about the helicopter industry’s past and how the organization helps to educate present and future generations of helicopter professionals. HELI-EXPO® opened on March 5 and ran through March 8. Once again the event was well attended, and there were many visitors to the HFI booth.
